Our Story
Hummingbird Security was founded by Art Sturdevant, a cybersecurity leader with 15+ years of experience building and scaling security operations. As a former Sr. Security Engineer at Duo Security and VP of Technical Operations at Censys, our founder saw firsthand how traditional tools were failing to protect against modern identity threats.
At Duo Security, we witnessed the evolution of authentication attacks—from simple credential stuffing to sophisticated MFA fatigue campaigns. At Censys, our team provided visibility into internet-facing assets for Fortune 500 companies. These experiences revealed a critical gap: organizations had visibility into their external attack surface but were blind to identity-based threats happening inside their walls.
MFA fatigue attacks, impossible travel patterns, and toxic permission combinations were slipping through the cracks—costing organizations millions in breaches. We built the Auth Sentry platform to solve this problem. Not another dashboard that just alerts, but an active defense system that detects, analyzes, and contains identity threats in real-time.
